I'm Glad We Met Again

There was us...
   There was you and me...
Until an angel come and grabbed me from you.

You never ceased...
   Never let go...
     You remained a friend.

Time had passed...
   But you never did forget...
You have come back for me...

Im glad to know...
   Im glad you came...
     And I'm glad for you...

The US have gone...
    But you and me remained...
and hey, Im glad we met again...

Of Holy Matrimony...

…Of Holy Matrimony…

Just opened my pc after putting my little boy to bed for his morning nap and as the long queue of start-up, something in the yahoo! news caught my attention… nope, it is not this news yet… since the marquee of news seems interesting for a monday morning, I continued scrolling and viola, headline reads MARRIAGE LOSES LUSTER IN PH! this has caught not only my attention but my interest as well. so i continued on reading…
if you think i reflected on this blog, you’re wrong. the ideas are free flowing – no reflections or whatever (so pardon me if the ideas i present here seem to be too radical for a Christian like me). The numbers presented in the news are not strange especially in the current economical situation of the Filipino Society.  It is also true that getting married may cost a lot particularly for people who earns just enough to feed his family. However, the government offers cheap options of getting married – mass wedding, civil weddings, etc. And the result is still the same – two becomes one and they become bound to each other for the rest of their lives – through thick and thin – for better and (most of the time) for worst. So what else is new? Is this a shock for a country like ours? A country that claims to be a Christian Nation? For the katoliko sarado Filipinos, this may be bothering them. But then, what can they do?
in a Catholic point of view, they couple are wed to one another together with Christ (this is as far as my religious point of view is concern) and that what makes it a Holy Matrimony. and that is one of the basic reason why the Catholic Church is against the divorce bill. The church says in the Gospel of Saint Mark:  6 “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’[a] 7 ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,[b] 8 and the two will become one flesh.’[c] So they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”  So this might be another reason why couples don’t get married.
Practically speaking, most Filipinos find it practical to live in together without getting married. No skyrocketing expenses for a wedding and more savings more money for the need of the family. Maybe, may I say, another reason of not getting married is the lack of divorce in the Philippines. No marriage by trial-and-error (I know… i know that your eyebrows are now high enough to reach the first hair of your head)… but this is the reality.
-*-
Marriage is a big thing for us Filipinos. Hindi bah? But still, the growing number of unmarried couples living in together with a team of basketball kids. Trial and error… tapos they can get married to someone else. or at the end, kerida pa ang unang kinasama. hay. low morality sasabihin ng mga Katoliko at ng Simbahan. Well, ganyan talaga. This is not fashion – or trend or fad. This is our culture. Ganito naman talaga ang mga Pilipino.
-*-
Extended family vs. nuclear family. Walang masama dito. The more, the merrier.

Ang Babae sa Septic Tank (not a review)

It was AVATAR 3D... yes, avatar was the last movie I saw on wide screen. I don't usually go to the movies unless I really love to see the movie.

Out of curiosity of what the movie was all about, I insisted to see Ang Babae sa Septic Tank by Eugene Domingo. I may not be an "avid fan" of Eugene but I like her acting style. Maybe because we share something in common - the stage theater. We went to this mall in Manila only to find out that the theater that is supposed to be playing the said movie was closed. (We actually queued for almost 30 minutes in the ticket booth only to be told so). So feeling tired and frustrated we went to our cousin's place. After some chit-chatting, food sharing and resting, we decided to go to another mall nearby. We saw the poster of the movie and rushed to the ticket booth since we don't have enough time left. (malapit na mag start ung movie and we thought it's a one time viewing only)... so much for that...

So the movie...
Huh? nice start.,.. oh... si JM! I like that boy as well... oki... and so the movie goes... the story of mila... I, together with my 2 cousins and my sister were enjoying the movie until a group of BIG, FAT non-professional movie goers sat behind us and were laughing hard though there is no funny scene yet started to annoy us. We went to another row away from them and enjoyed the movie...

"I want.... ung kape na masarap... ung sa Italy ko natikman... ano na nga un... Oo, EXPRESSO!!!!" What the @#$K! Then, I just laughed at him. So all of us were laughing... until maybe the nth time, the scene of MILA and her children was played (though there were several themes/genre of the scene) came into my nerve... ito lang ba talaga ung movie a repetitive scene of MILA and her disgusting life, flashing through the head of these indie and young movie makers? So where's the septic tank? where is Eugene Domingo as herself? What the heck is this movie about? I get the point of the actual writer. I get the point of the director of movie (or so I thought...)

Ok fine... so where is the septic tank... (My sister told me that she had read from somewhere that the scene on the septic was actually an accident and was not intended to be shot). But since it was nice, the director added it to the movie..

It was fun... not the septic tank scene, but the movie itself... Maybe I should write my own review of the movie. But one thing I'm sure, the best movie of the year I have seen so far.

If I were to give the movie a rating, it would be 6 over 5 stars! The Best! Bravo!
